The Government of Japan’s Bunkacho (Agency for Cultural Affairs) will provide three outstanding young animation artists from around the world with an opportunity to participate in the Animation Artist in Residence program in Tokyo in 2014, for 70 days between the 7th of January and 17th of March. The lucky participants will have the unique opportunity to create new works while directly interacting with Japanese animation culture in-country, and by doing so, the Bunkacho aims to promote both the creation of excellent works of animation and a better understanding of Japanese culture.
The participants will have their travel and living expenses paid, and will be given expert assistance, opportunities to interact with Japanese animators during their stay and an opportunity to present their finished work. They will also have the chance to visit animation studios and participate in exchange events with artists and students enrolled in art programs at educational institutions.
