Australians in Film – inaugural entertainment fellowship deadline approaching

Australians in Film, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organisation that serves as the industry guild for Australian filmmakers and performers in the US, announced that applications for the inaugural Village Roadshow Entertainment Group (VREG)/Animal Logic Entertainment Fellowship will close on 31 May 2014.

The program offers a unique experience to Australians interested in the film industry and enables Australians to visit Los Angeles to learn non-creative aspects of feature film development, acquisitions, packaging and production. The chosen candidate will be announced in late July 2014.

The VREG/Animal Logic Entertainment Fellowship is dedicated to fostering educational development and training in the film industry. The Fellowship includes professional development opportunities, such as practical paid work experience at both Village Roadshow Pictures’ and Animal Logic’s offices in Los Angeles, as well as networking with Australians in Film Board members, industry members and ambassadors.

• The three-month fellowship is open to current film business undergraduate students and recent graduates, who demonstrate significant potential in their area of expertise.
• The program includes three days a week at Village Roadshow Pictures’ office in Los Angeles and two days at Animal Logic’s office in Burbank.

The chosen candidate will receive return economy airfare and a 20,000 USD stipend from Australians in Film to cover accommodation and other living costs. Airfares will be provided by AiF airline partner Virgin Australia. J-1 Visa services will be provided by Raynor & Associates Immigration Lawyers.
