Now in its 32nd year, the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival—the largest festival of films for children in North America—will run from 23 October to 1 November 2015. We are seeking humanistic, culturally diverse, and compelling films that reveal the world in new ways and leave room for the child’s own imaginative response.
The Chicago International Children’s Film Festival is the world’s first Academy Award-qualifying children’s film festival, and has earned an international reputation for presenting the very best in children’s and youth media from around the world. The festival advocates inspired, innovative programming for young people, and is adjudicated by three juries: an adult jury, a youth jury, and a children’s jury.
In 2014, 300 films from 43 countries were screened for approximately 25,000 children, parents, and teachers and 100 filmmakers. Films are presented at five venues throughout the Chicago area. The Festival includes participatory programs for children as well as professional development opportunities for filmmakers and attendees.
