Casting Call: Graduate Short Drama

By September 4, 2015 Jobs

I am currently seeking two male actors—one lead and one minor role—for my graduate University of Notre Dame Sydney film Blame.

Set in working class, blue collar Australia, a young boy holds onto a secret afraid of the disastrous consequences he’ll face if the truth comes out.

The roles I need to cast are:

1. CHARLIE (LEAD ROLE)

Charlie is in his 40s, and a single parent to Jack. Charlie has never had a close relationship with his son because he has never fully recovered from the death of his wife, Jack’s mother, at the time of Jack’s birth. Charlie comes across as hostile and unapproachable, with his demeanor being cold and at times threatening to Jack. Deep down Charlie loves his son, but he finds it difficult to express affection and emotion.

Males, aged 35 to 50 from Australia.

2. KANE’S DAD (SMALLER ROLE)

Kane’s dad is the local police officer in his mid 40s. He’s a man with strict morals, with a strong sense of family and community. He is a warm character and always strives to help people in need.

Males, aged 35 to 50 from Australia

The roles are unpaid however actors will be supplied with a copy of the film for their showreel.

The shoot period is 26-29 September 2015.
