Crew Call for Short Film

By August 15, 2013 Jobs

I am a recent film school graduate looking to direct a 5-8min short film to build up a reel. My last project was very challenging logistically so I intend to keep this shoot very low key to focus on storytelling and working with actors.

I invite any filmmakers who would similarly like to hone their skills free from assignment constraints or pressures to collaborate with me on this project.

The Short Film
The film is a drama to be shot mostly handheld, fly on the wall style. The location is in a field at magic hour.

“Two childhood friends meet for the last time before one leaves for the US.”

The Shoot
Shooting will take place end of August. One day shoot with second day safety plus additional meetings for prep.

Tentative dates 31st August and 1st September. Final dates will be locked in with the right candidate, schedule is flexible. Talent is the priority!

Cinematographer
The cinematographer will be experienced in handling a DSLR and have an interest in the story.
Script upon request.

Own equipment ideal (DSLR) but able to provide equipment as well.

Please email with details on past experience, equipment owned and showreel/links to past work.
Payment based on experience.

Sound Recordist
Able to record quality 2 person dialogue. Everyone says no one cares about sound but I’ve had bad experiences with it in the past and your expertise will be valued! Own equipment ideal but can also be provided for.

Sound recordist is minimal involvement in the project but if you also have interests in sound mixing and/or music composition I am open to ideas.

Please email with details on past experience, equipment owned and showreel/links to past work.
Payment based on experience.

A shortlist of applicants will be drawn up and meetings will be arranged to see if the crew are a good fit. If it doesn’t work out… at least you’ll get a free coffee.
