The inaugural Dungog Festival is pleased to announce “The Gog” short film prize, to be awarded in recognition of outstanding Australian short filmmaking. Any short film selected for the Festival, and made in Australia or by an Australian citizen in the past 12 months, will be eligible.
The $1,000 cash prize comes from a fund established by Dungog community members to celebrate emerging Australian talent. The Dungog Festival is thrilled to see the community’s support for this new event.
In light of the announcement of this award, submissions have been extended by an extra week, now closing on 7 July.
Encompassing a diverse program of international and Australian cinema, live music, food and wine events, and artisan workshops, the Dungog Festival will take place on the weekend of 28-31 August in the upper hunter town of Dungog. “The Gog” short film prize will be awarded at a ceremony on Sunday 31 August.
Film submissions can be made through the film festival life page.
