Green Light Media is a growing commercial video production company based on Sydney’s north shore, and is now looking to recruit a second junior editor/shooter/all-rounder to complement the existing team. This will be a full-time permanent role after a paid trial period of up to 12 weeks.
As an all-rounder your responsibilities will be evolving from day to day, but typically your work week may involve 80% post, and 20% production work, so your suitability for the role will mainly be determined from your post-production background.
Your responsibilities in the business will include variously:
Ingesting, editing and delivering assigned video projects from start to finish.
General production assisting and operating cameras as required (5DmIIs / mIIIs, C300s, et al.)
Media management (backups etc.)
Miscellaneous office work and maintenance
Running errands and deliveries
Over time a solid performer may be given opportunities to take on more responsibilities, such as producing and directing.
The successful applicant would have many of the following:
A strong familiarity with Adobe Premiere, editing terminology, concepts and workflows
General on-set experience – ideally on TVCs, corporates or straight TV. Shoots as part of short film or tertiary coursework will be considered if substantial
An ability to accept feedback and instructions
An insatiable passion to learn and improve one’s skills
Experience operating DSLR-style cameras
Strong communication skills – written and verbal
Please note a valid driver’s license is crucial for this position. Your own vehicle will just be a plus.
This role is intended for a somewhat broad range of applicant: maybe you’ve graduated from a recent tertiary film/media course in the last year or two and you’ve just finished an internship at another production company. Or maybe you’ve been working freelance in the industry for a year or so, and you’re eager to secure a full-time position. Or maybe you don’t fit either definition.
