Ten projects for emerging filmmakers are produced at Metro Screen under the First Break program with $4000 cash, $1000 equipment hire and post production facilities, a short course in editing, a professional to assist editing the script and an experienced Supervising Editor to mentor the film all the way to screening.

First Break Success
In 2010 Writer / Director Kirsty Best was granted a First Break to make Something Fishy, a visually driven short about Maxine a little girl obsessed with goldfish. In 2011 the film screened internationally at Dungog Film Festival, LA Comedy Shorts, DC Shorts, Cornwall Film Festival, The Friars Club Comedy Film Festival New York and The Connecticut Film Festival.
