The Australian Theatre Checking Service (part of the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia) is currently looking for people to check theatres on an occasional basis. Theatre checkers must be over 18 years of age and are required to attend film screenings at designated cinemas and provide follow up reports. These reports include the number of admissions, trailers shown, posters displayed in foyers, and other relevant data. These are paid casual positions that require reliability, attention to detail and enjoyment of cinema.
Our theatre checkers receive work requests monthly by email, providing them with the film, cinema and session time. They are provided with their own personal login for the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia (MPDAA) website, where they can then enter and submit their reports online.
The frequency of theatre checks is dependent on the film distributors. Therefore there may be some months where there are no checks available at your chosen cinema.
The current labour rate is $52.73 per screening. Checkers are asked to purchase their tickets prior to the screening, and these ticket costs are reimbursed at a later date. Pays are deposited into the checkers nominated account the month after the checks have been submitted.
