Go for Gold! but hurry, deadline closes 18 July.
Last call for uplifting short films, from all genres, that beat with a heart of gold.
Filmmakers who are sitting on 24-carat films that have been produced since January 2013, are under 30 minutes, and guaranteed to give audiences a good laugh (and perhaps even something to think about), should check out Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival.
But don’t dilly dally! The final deadline for submissions, is 18 July 2015.
Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival (HOGISFF) 2015 will see more than 120 quality films from around the world screened in competition and out of competition, in former gold mining town, Gympie, Queensland from 8-11 October.
HOG’s artistic directors (or self-described ‘film prospectors’) are on the lookout for shorts that best capture the festival’s unique vision.
“We have our eyes peeled for films that are positive, witty, whimsical, entertaining, joyous, uplifting, quirky, enlightening and thought-provoking,” HOGISFF artistic director Margie Brown said.
“In essence, we want our audiences coming out of the cinema, feeling enriched in some way and with sore smile muscles!
“We’ve already fielded a huge selection of 24-carat films from more 38 countries including far-flung places such as Iran, Croatia and Uruguay.
“With a pot of prize money totaling $12,000, a whole new slate of award categories, and its reputation for showcasing filmic excellence, Heart of Gold should not be missed on this year’s international film festival calendar.”
This year’s award categories include: Best Short Film, Best Australian Film, Best Student Film, Screener’s Choice Award, Best Cinematography, Best Narrative, Most Inspirational Film and Artistic Directors’ Award.
