ICE’s film club, Point Of View, is presenting it’s final event of the year on Tuesday 14 October, 6pm.

In Make Our Myths, we’ll discuss various forms of realism in filmmaking, and the cinematic devices that can can be used to take us beyond ‘kitchen sink realism’ — our everyday experiences. We will also explore what we can do cinematically (and on a low budget) to deliver stories with dynamics, scale and imagination.

Point of View by Dr Karen Pearlman

Karen is a lecturer in Screen Production at Macquarie University, and was the head of Screen Studies at AFTRS for six years. She’s an award-winning filmmaker, editor and dancer, and the author of Cutting Rhythms, Shaping the Film Edit (Focal Press, 2009).

We invite you to attend our film club, throw in your point of view, and celebrate screen culture at its best!
