We believe a connected industry is a strong industry. Join us for a drink to celebrate the final 66 MeetUps for 2014!
Lots of newly-started businesses find themselves working at the kitchen table or at a desk in a shared studio. But while tech start-ups pride themselves on being ‘well connected’, creative entrepreneurs don’t always get the opportunity to reap the benefits of networking within their industry.
With diverse experiences, our three guest speakers will explore the benefits of connecting with the broader creative industry, and tips on how to build meaningful business relationships.
Flyn Tracy is the Industry Program Manager for Tractor and organiser for CreativeMornings/Sydney. Being involved in launching both Tractor and CreativeMornings, he has a wealth of experience in success and failure in branding and marketing with a focus on the design industry.
Andrew Yang is a lifestyle entrepreneur, having built several businesses with little or no money. In 2012, one of his previous companies, Synergy Enterprise was a BRW Fast Starter having grown revenues to over $1.8 million within three years without taking on any outside investment. He is a huge supporter of emerging talent and a co-founder of Young Republic, an online marketplace for independent fashion designers.
Anna Lise founded &company in 2009, and is establishing Australia’s biggest design-led maker-space. Anna Lise is a curator, producer and industry enabler. In 2014 she curated a presentation of Australian design at Milan’s Salone di Mobile (Milan Design Week), and spent five weeks in the UK researching maker-spaces as a winner of the British Council’s Realise Your Dream Award. Excited by the intersection of creativity and business, Anna Lise was recently named a ‘Designpreneur Major Influencer’ by Design Quarterly magazine, and she works as a strategist with leading international business incubator ATP Innovations.
