If you want to know more about Japanese music but aren’t quite sure where to start, Japan in Stereo is your event this summer. Sometime, someplace, we’ve all spent lazy nights in a cosy lounge room with friends, sharing music and waxing lyrical about our favourite tracks into the wee hours. So simple and yet, some of these experiences probably changed our ears, tastes and music libraries forever. In the tradition of the lounge-room music swap comes Japan in Stereo, an intimate salon-style series which invites five passionate music aficionados to introduce their favourite genres of Japanese music. Through conversation, music, video and live performance, they share why their chosen genre is music to their ears, to help it become music to our ears too.
