Metro Screen is very pleased to announce our industry partners for the mid-year internship program. Over 15 companies are participating in the program including Beyond Productions, Class Movies, Definitions Films, Essential Media, Firelight Productions, Goalpost Pictures, Matchbox, Media Stockade, Porchlight Films, Scarlett Pictures, Screen NSW and The Feds. Some students will also be working on shoots.
Our internship program is another way Metro Screen ensures that our people get industry relevant experience, an on-the-job opportunity to understand how the industry works in practice — always so different to the classroom experience!
Internships give our grads the chance to develop professional working relationships with established screen content producers and companies and generate a network of professional association that will nourish their screen career. Internships also give host companies an opportunity to mentor new talent and to give a leg up to the next generation of screen practitioners.
The internships are unpaid and don’t exceed a 30 day commitment with most interns working a day or two a week over several weeks. Metro Screen also provides the necessary insurances.
Metro Screen offers the internship program to those participating in our flagship activities including our Breaks program, our Diploma courses and and our Post Production and Assistant Director scholarship programs. Metro Screen staff determine the best fit for the company and the intern.
For emerging practitioners interested in our internship program check out our Diploma in Screen and Media (Semester 1, 2015) and keep an eye out for the 2015 Breaks program and future scholarship courses.
