During Art & About, East Sydney Creative invites you to a series of explorations to discover special events and creative encounters. Escape early from work on Wednesdays and hit the pavement to find film, art, music and design at work and at play. The Metro Screen studios will be transformed by Designer Gui Andrade in to a Pop Up Cinema and Bar on Wednesday 25 September and Wednesday 2, 9 and 16 October featuring a bespoke curated program of short films.

Subliminal Psychosis and Paranoid Perspectives

A trip into the twisted minds of filmmakers and the inhabitants that lurk there. Featuring films from Harmony Korine, Film Bilder and Satchmo, this strange sojourn showcases the instant gratification that sometimes only Youtube can provide. Programmed by Rich Warren former Program coordinator at the BAFTA and Academy Award qualifying Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival UK.

Feed Me Weird Things

Enter the dark room for an evening of pretty colours, twisted pixels and classic Metro Screen retro psychedelia. Program features local jokester Matt Banham’s Jokes and Retro Metro classic from the Severed Heads live TV experiments from 1982. Popcorn munchies available.

Your favourite feature films and filmmakers evolved out the short film primordial sludge, where this selection of shorts has been dredged up from, for your viewing pleasure. Programmed by Metro Screen Alumni Writer / Director Craig Boreham maker of short film Drowning, on its own evolutionary path to become the feature film Teenage Kicks.
