Congratulations Michael Chrisoulakis and Kate Rees Davies, who, after cutting their teeth at Metro Screen, crossed paths by chance in LA and created a new feature film.
The film will be Michael’s debut feature as director, and Kate’s eighth feature as producer.
“It was wonderful meeting up with Michael again after our first collaboration at Metro Screen,” said Kate. “As soon as I read the script, I knew it was something special.”
Day For Night is a neo-noir, psychological thriller set in a dark Hollywood underworld. It examines the fine line between following a dream and fueling an obsession. The film stars Arielle Brachfeld as wannabe actress ‘Priscilla’, who finds herself drawn into a murky criminal underworld where she meets a host of eclectic characters, including ‘Cousins’ played by star of the Insidious franchise, Lin Shaye.
The producers used crowd-funding site Kickstarter to raise funds for the film. They recently surpassed their goal of US$37,000 and raised US$42,277, which will help them complete the second phase of shooting in April.
They are hoping to screen the film at film festivals, including Slamdance and SXSW, and plan to target the American Film Market for sale.
Every pledge counts!
