The Museum of Sydney Movie Club is holding a special screening of Australian documentary Tender on 30 August.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the industrial seaside town of Port Kembla, a feisty and resilient community group decide to take back a responsibility that most of us leave to someone else—to care for their own dead.
Dedicated to becoming as present in death as they are in birth, the group are not trained or equipped to establish a not-for-profit funeral service, but they’re willing to learn, and what they learn they share throughout the film.
“A film about dying that is all about living. Tender, funny and deeply moving.” – Andrew Denton
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.
Tickets are only $15 and include entry to the Museum of Sydney.
