Nickelodeon’s Slimefest 2014: Volunteers Wanted

The biggest annual event for Aussie kids is back–Nickeodeon’s Slimefest!

This year’s event will be held at Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre on Friday 26 September. It promises to be amazing with the stars kids love, musical performances, spectacular surprises, a festival area with heaps of stuff to do, and don’t forget the famous Nickelodeon slime! We are looking for volunteers to assist in a variety of areas. If you are looking for some event work experience, or would just like to come and join in for a few days of madness and mayhem please apply!

We are looking to fill a number of positions at the event please note you will be allocated a position on the day of your briefing, and we cannot guarantee which role your will be assigned. Following are the positions we are looking to fill. If you fit the bill please complete the online application form! Good luck!

1. Onstage De-Slime Crew/De-Slime Wardrobe Team

You will be responsible for cleaning the stage between acts under the instruction of the stage management team, and you will report to the Stage Manager. You will also be responsible for assisting the talent in wardrobe changes after sliming.

2. Festival Area Assistants

You may be assigned a position that will require you to assist patrons with directions, queue management, and meeting and greeting guests entering the venue areas. To be successful in this role you must be well presented and enjoy working with people.

3. Sponsor Activation Assistants

You may be assigned to a specific Sponsor Activation where you will be required to assist patrons visiting the activation stand, and communicate exactly what the activation is about. You may be required to direct guests through the venue to the appropriate areas, handle merchandise and assist with sampling. You must be well presented and have an outgoing, happy personality.

4. Mosh Assistants

In this position you cannot be afraid to get slimey! You will be stationed inside the standing area to help with any issues that arise amongst the slime. You must be fit and strong and be able to think quickly on your feet. Communication skills are a must so you can notify the correct person in the event of an emergency.

If you would like to assist:

• You need to be available on Thursday 25 September from 3-8pm and all day on Friday 26 September.

• You need to be at least 18 years of age and have a good sense of humour.

• You need to wear either black pants, tidy black jeans or cargo pants, and comfortable closed shoes. A Nickelodeon t-shirt will be supplied to you on the event day.

Please note that these are unpaid, volunteer positions. However, you will gain great experience in one of Australia’s largest-scale kid productions of the year.
