Rhodes Multimedia History Project

The City of Canada Bay is seeking expressions of interest from artists who would like to create multimedia public art exhibits for the ‘Rhodes Multimedia History Project’.

This exciting initiative seeks to integrate public art into capital works projects. It aims to add vibrancy to the Rhodes precinct and establish a strong sense of belonging in the Rhodes community.

The ‘Rhodes Multimedia History Project’ will reflect community journeys and culture in the Rhodes Peninsula.

Artist Brief:

Develop a multimedia exhibition including a mix of oral histories, videos and still images and soundtracks to represent local community members living in Rhodes precinct. Finished work will be featured in a vibrant display at The Connection, a new iconic facility to open on Rhodes foreshore in 2016.

The theme of the work will celebrate the diverse and vibrant community now living in the Rhodes precinct. Project will also focus on the history of three community groups and on 10 individual stories.

The budget for this project is up to $15,000.

The artist needs to provide the cost of fulfilling the following research, consultation and design elements:

  • Research and development of detailed themes and concept/project plan
  • Community consultation and content gathering
  • Project meetings with Council team (minimum of three meetings)
  • 3 x 10min video assets—local community group focus stories
  • 10 x 1-2min video assets—individual stories
  • Digital record of project and assets
