Trop Jr 2015—the world’s largest short film festival for kids by kids—is officially open for entries. The competition attracts young filmmakers from around Australia to showcase their short films this December in Sydney’s Centennial Park.
The Trop Jr 2015 Signature Item (TSI) for this year is ‘BUTTON’ and as with previous years, organisers are expecting to receive some crazy, zany and heartfelt entries from across Australia.
“We get such wonderful films submitted into Trop Jr every year, from action-adventure and mockumentary to the downright touching—there’s no shortage of creative kids out there!” said Managing Director of Tropfest Michael Laverty. “Because we get so many wonderful entries by dedicated young filmmakers we’ve decided this year to really shine a spotlight on them and their talents.
“This year we’ll be holding Trop Jr as a stand alone event on Saturday 5 December 2015. We’re planning a whole evening of activities for kids, so not only will families be able to see some incredible films, but they’ll be able to settle in with a picnic blanket for a whole night of fun,” said Laverty.
