The REELise Film Festival offers a unique opportunity for young filmmakers to showcase their talents through mobile phone filmmaking while broadening awareness about issues impacting today’s youth.

Short film entries are now sought for the REELise Film Festival 2015. Competition entry is free and open to all young filmmakers 12-18 years (or in Years 7-12).

Entrants compete for prizes including Canon Cameras and insider experiences with Australian film and television production houses.

Key competition conditions are that the film be captured on a mobile phone, be no longer than 5 minutes (including credits) and address the theme #nofilter. What’s it like to grow up in a world seemingly pre-occupied with screen based technology, social media and self-image? We want your stories!

The deadline for submission is 31 December 2014.

The REELise Film Festival is a great launching pad for young filmmakers providing networking opportunities and practical exposure to the film industry. Harnessing the hip pocket power of mobile phones, the Festival makes social activism and filmmaking accessible to young people.

The REELise Film Festival will screen in VMAX at Event Cinemas Bondi Junction on 22 February 2015.
