Theme: Fantasy

Calling all Super-8 filmmakers ? whether you?re a seasoned campaigner or a Super-8 newbie, Revel-8 Film Fest is throwing out the challenge far and wide to take part in a celebration of image meets music. Fulfil your Super-8 fantasy by taking part in Revel-8 2014 and have your film screened at Revelation Perth International Film Festival.

Fantasy plays a big part in our daily lives ? whether it takes us to other worlds or makes this one just a bit more interesting! Let your imagination run wild and take the audience on a journey to remember. Tell your story ?in-camera? on a single 3.5 minute cartridge of Super-8 film, and the talented music composition students at the WA Academy of Performing Arts will create a music soundtrack for you.

Revel-8 makes the Super 8 journey easy by providing both a film cartridge and film processing as part of the registration fee.

Revel-8 films will premiere to their makers for the first time at Revelation Perth International Film Festival 3rd to 13th July 2014. Awards to be presented include Best Film, Best Music Soundtrack, Best Cinematography and Audience Choice.

“Super 8 is the un-killable beast!” says festival Chair and founder Richard Sowada. “Since Rev started in 1997 we’ve seen VHS, Betamax, 16mm and 35mm, SP Betacam, Laserdisc, MiniDV, floppy discs, zip drives and now DVD and CD completely die, but Super 8 has remained alive amongst the format carnage. It’s so enjoyable to use and screening it is a show in itself – we love Revel-8”

Entry forms can be downloaded from: http://www.revelationfilmfest.org or contact: revel8filmfest@gmail.com for more information and a Super 8 Help Guide.

Registrations close 4th April 2014 and films must be completed by 22nd April 2014.
