Sandfly Film Festival, showcasing grass roots film-making, revs up for its 4th year with the addition of several International venues to its lineup. Paris, Berlin, Los Angeles, New York and Bogotá will each host a night of Sandfly Films over an action packed week in compliment to Sandfly’s local screenings.
Australian events kick off with an exclusive roof-top screening in vibrant King Street Newtown on Saturday November 2nd. The festival then takes to the road, travelling to picturesque Jervis Bay on Sunday the 3rd and the majestic Blue Mountains on Tuesday the 5th. Festivities return to Sydney for the closing night party and screening hosted by Work-Shop in Chippendale on Saturday November 9th.
The Newtown Rooftop screening selection includes hard-hitting African-Spanish coproduction, Aquel No Era Yo (That Wasn’t Me); quirky French Animation, Mr Hublot and the stunning Ben Lee music video, On My Knees. The Work-Shop Chippendale screening selection includes bittersweet Columbian drama, Magnolia; quirky British black comedy, The Eternal Not and heart warming Australian film, There’s No Place. The vibrant selection of films accompanied by drinks, food and an exciting line up of live musical acts make Sandfly Film Festival an unforgettable experience.
