Are you a passionate foodie as well as a creative videographer / editor, wanting to contribute your talents to a first-ever event here in Sydney this November?
We’re a group of volunteers putting together Australia’s first ever food-focused digital tech hackathons (http://www.HackFood.com) in Sydney (Fishburners in Ultimo) from 6-8 November. The volunteers on the organizing committee are passionate foodies, motivated to put the event together to help some sort of the food industry’s biggest challenges through the use of digital technology.
Our website is nearly done, and we’ve begun spreading the word to potential participants and sponsors/partners.
What we need for the website is a short 90-second teaser-style video to communicate the key event details – i.e. “what is food technology?”, “why is this event significant?”, “why do you want to be part of it?”, and “what will you get by being part of it?”. We’re looking to shoot the teaser video at either our next mid-September meet-up (date tbd – http://www.meetup.com/foodtechaus), or during our HackFood Launch Party event on Thursday 15 October. Note: this second date would mean a pretty quick turnaround to produce and launch the video, in-time to use to promote for 6 November event.
While we’re the first food-focused digital hackathons, we’re certainly not the first hackathons – many others have been organized for other industries/companies. We’re not seeking to re-invent the wheel with these videos – we’re quite happy to follow the lead from some other examples online.
After we hold the event, a second project (separate to the above) will be to produce a post-event wrap-up video so, when we do this event again next year, we’ll have a summary video to show potential partners and sponsors to grow the event.
