Seeking Talented Crew For Australian Espionage Thriller

By May 11, 2015 Jobs

Tradecraft is an espionage thriller feature film about two female ASIO spies—an idealistic analyst and a jaded operative—who cooperate to stop a terrorist attack. Think of Crimson Tide meets The Bourne Identity.

We’re seeking the following crew members:

Production Designer
1st AD
Sound Recordist
Sound Designer
Line Producer
Costume / Make-up
Production Manager
Production Assistants

To give you a snap shot of the film we are going to make, award-winning writer/director Ben Phelps and writer/editor Gabe Dowrick created this two-minute sizzle reel:

The shoot is divided into main unit and second unit: June/July 2015 and Nov/Dec 2015. More details available upon request. The first half of the shoot is scheduled for Sat 20 June–Sun 19 July 2015.

We recently financed our film with private investors and we’ve been granted incredible sponsorship, including equipment (ie Arri Alexa), studio rental, studio lighting and post-production facilities at the former AFTRS studios in North Ryde. So we’re now in pre-production, scheduled to shoot in 7 weeks.

It will be an ambitious shoot on a microbudget. We’re driven by a passion to collaborate on a political Espionage Thriller that’s led by active female characters, the type of story that’s rarely (ever?) produced in Australia. To do that, we want to work with a combination of emerging talent and experienced cast/crew who share our enthusiasm. Some roles will be award rates, some roles will be deferrals and some roles will be unpaid internships.
