By November 24, 2014 Industry News

To celebrate its 26th edition in style, the Alliance Française French Film Festival and its supporting partner Peugeot Automobiles Australia are offering aspiring filmmakers the opportunity to not onlywatch films but to also make them!

As part of the complete French experience, the winning filmmaker will receive a trip to Paris and have their short film screened during the 2015 Festival at Palace Cinemas.

The Short Film Competition encourages applicants to submit a short film, of 30 to 60 seconds, on the topic ‘Motion & Emotion’.

As Peugeot’s brand promise, ‘Motion & Emotion’ encapsulates the collaboration between the two organisations with each word describing what they do best:

  • All submissions are to incorporate what Peugeot Australia represents to their authors, Motion.
  • The clips are also to incorporate a certain ‘French touch’ and to embody the spirit of the Alliance Française and French cinema by utilising French words, concepts, symbols, photos or representations of France / French cinema, Emotion.

To be eligible, submissions must be received before 5PM (AEDT) 16 January 2015.

The Top 3 films will be selected by a Jury whose members will include leading figures of the Australian Film Industry such as Antonio Zeccola, Founder of Palace Cinemas; Sandy George, Presenter of SBS Movies, Australian Correspondent Screen International &; Veronica Gleeson, Creative Director at Screen Australia and Professor Herman Van Eyken, Head of School – Griffith Film School.  Thereafter, the winning Short will be selected via an online vote open to the public.
