Winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Sydney Film Festival 2013, The Crossing tells the story of two young Aussies who embark on a daring expedition to cross a remote island in the Arctic. In a gripping tale of adventure and courage, these modern day explorers become the first people to cover more than 1000km of the infamous Victoria Island while battling freezing temperatures and wild animals. The film is edited from more than a hundred hours of stunning footage shot by the travellers themselves.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Arts Law Centre of Australia, the national community centre for the arts, whose vision is to foster a society that promotes justice for artists and values their creative contribution. Established in 1983 with the support of the Australia Council for the Arts, Arts Law provides free or low cost expert legal and business advice, publications, education and advocacy services to over 4,000 artists and arts organisations throughout Australia each year.
