WEA Sydney’s 100th Anniversary presentsThe Rise of the Tramp: The Genius of Charlie Chaplin 1914-1917 is fun for all of the family. In January 2013 at the NSW State Library’s Metcalfe Auditorium in Macquarie Street Sydney, the Festival shall hold a tribute to The Birth of the iconic Tramp: Charlie Chaplin and his Genius, 1914-1917. This event runs over 4 Sundays and has 3 sessions daily, each of approximately an hour’s duration. These sessions trace the rise of one of the world’s greatest cultural artists. 24 Classic comedy shorts from his start at the Keystone Studio and from his treasures at the Essanay and Mutual Studios are the focus of this tribute. Digital presentations of restored films with soundtracks.
Dates are Sundays from January 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th with three sessions on each Sunday at 12.30 to 1.30pm, 1.45pm to 2.45pm and 3pm to 4pm.
