Film lovers in Japan will be delighted to add another short film festival to their calendar this year, as Tropfest lands in Yokohama on Saturday 31 May 2014.
This free event will be held in the beautiful outdoor space of Yokohama Minato Mirai Grand Mall Park.
“There is a growing global appetite for short film and I can’t wait for Japanese audiences to experience what Tropfest has to offer.” said Tropfest Founder and Director John Polson.”I think they’re going to love it.”
The event will be co-hosted by Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 and supported by Yokohama City Culture and Tourism Bureau. Yokohama itself has a population of 3.7 million and is a 30 minute drive from central Tokyo. The “Creative City” has many art institutions and cultural events, including the famous Yokohama Art Triennale, the oldest international art festival in Japan. Yokohama is also one of the host cities of the Short Shorts Film Festival which will take place from 30 May to 15 June 2014 at Brillia Short Shorts Theatre.
