Metro Screen has been overwhelmed by the positive feedback and offers of help following the announcement of our closure. We especially appreciate and value your stories about the part we’ve played in your screen careers.
The decision to close has not been taken lightly or without considerable effort. We have worked hard over the past 18 months to identify any long term and sustainable income sources, and have examined everything that might be changed. We’ve searched for ideas with external advisers and with our stakeholders, and we’re grateful to so many people for helping us, in trying to find new ways to continue. The Metro Screen board stands by its decision to close Metro Screen.
It is now time for the community to re-imagine new ways to support the emerging screen sector without Metro Screen.
Please save the date of 11 November 6pm where we will share the research we have completed about the emerging sector and facilitate a community discussion on future possibilities.
Metro Screen continues to work at full capacity to serve emerging filmmakers so we look forward to seeing you right up until the end of the year for our networking sessions, screenings, courses, gear hire and production support.
Thanks for the love – we’re feeling it.
