Young Filmmaker/Junior Editor – Looking for Work

By September 17, 2014 Jobs

My name is Bruno Dubosarsky and I am an 18 year old, first year arts student at University of Sydney. I’ve been making videos on YouTube since 2008, and directing short films since 2011. I am profoundly familiar with cameras, lighting, audio equipment and editing software. In my first few weeks of university, I was enlisted as Video Director for ‘Jew Revue 2014: Torah the Explorer’. Since then, I have also been Video Director for both ‘Commerce Revue 2014: Moolah Rouge’ and ‘Science Revue 2014: Trapeze Get Degrees’. In my short time with these shows, I have put together 11 videos in total and I have learnt a great deal about the filmmaking process, and in particular, the editing process.

Filmmaking is my passion. I love the whole process. I’ve reduced my workload this upcoming semester so I can spend more time producing videos. I get so much enjoyment out of writing a script, preparing a storyboard, shooting it and editing a final product. Even preparing a catalog of props needed is pleasurable. For some reason, I find organisation really enjoyable.

I’ve shown myself to improvise well when disaster hits the set. When a crew member doesn’t show up, I know how to step in. When a light blows up set (as it has multiple times), I know how best to use a lamp-reflector combo. When an actor breaks down, I know how to motivate them back up.

I personally own a Canon EOS 600D, two redhead lights, three basic studio lights, several reflectors, a RODE VideoMic Pro, 2x Sennheiser Lavalier Mics, a 6mx3m green screen and a series of tripods.

In addition to filmmaking, I’ve been working since I was 10 years old. From 2006-2010, I delivered medicine, organised stock and cleaned for Marrickville Chemmart Pharmacy (which has since closed down). From 2010-2014, I was a shop assistant (worked with customers, handled cash, organised newspaper stock, etc.) for Cranes Newsagency in Marrickville.

Here are some of the videos I’ve directed and edited personally recently:
among many others

I only have classes three days a week this semester so I definitely have time to commit to any job. I am looking for paid work primarily since I am a desperate uni student.
