We require a sound recordist and a boom swinger for our comedy short film, a final-year UTS media student’s project.
The roles are on a volunteer basis, but you will be covered by insurance if anything happens on set.
Filming will take place on Sunday 12 April (day) and Monday 13 April (night) in the suburb of Doonside, NSW.
You are welcome to bring your own sound gear, but if you don’t have any, I can provide it.
Peter has an ordered and regimented life, treating patients day-in and day-out at his medical practice. His job defines him, and he hates it. Peter has no life outside of his work, and is often too tired to even think about changing.
His latest patient Jimmy arrives and is shocked at Peter’s sadness. With his carefree attitude and love of life, Jimmy invites Peter out for a night out of fun. Jimmy picks Peter up, and they proceed to smoke and drink for the rest of the night in suburban streets. The two become drunk and Peter accidentally runs over a pedestrian. Thinking the pedestrian is dead, the pair decide to hide the body in the car and plan what to do with him. Whilst driving away, the man awakes and starts attacking Peter and Jimmy as they drive. The car suddenly crashes into a tree and they make a run for it. The next morning, Peter is back at his practice with a carefree attitude. Suddenly his next patient comes in. The patient happens to be the man he ran over the night before. The two look at each other in stunned silence.
