An Audience with Queen Elizabeth II

By April 4, 2013 Events

As a part of Riverside’s 25th Anniversary celebrations, Riverside brings you Helen Mirren’s return to play as Queen Elizabeth II in the live broadcast of Peter Morgan’s sell-out West End production, The Audience, screening at Riverside on Sunday 7th July 2013.One of the most eagerly anticipated West End events of the year, The Audience shows a series of The Queen’s weekly confidential meetings between British Prime Ministers held at Buckingham Palace for the last 60 years. Mirren previously played the role of Her Majesty in the Oscar nominated film The Queen in 2006, and her return to this role provides us with another outstanding delivery of Queen Elizabeth II. The Audience is a live-broadcast to Riverside as part of its National Theatre Live film series. The film is only screening at selected venues throughout Australia, making this event especially unique. Prior to the film, Riverside invites patrons to join them for champagne and refreshments that are fit for a Queen, while enjoying a fantastic afternoon out experiencing the best of British theatre.
