NITV will climb into the ring on 29 September, broadcasting an independent feature film The Tour: Blunder Down Under.
Produced by first-time writer/director Corey Hague, the film stars American ‘Mean’ Gene Snitsky, Carlito Colon, Rob ‘The Ironman’ Conway, Chris Masters, Nick ‘Eugene’ Dinsmore and Ali Vaez alongside Perth-based indigenous wrestler Neil ‘N.C Viper’ Coyne.
Using a mockumentary format, the film takes a slanted look at the already surreal world of professional wrestling, and finds that it can get even weirder. But it’s not all goofy gags and body slams—Neil Coyne does a great job trying to explain his upbringing and Aboriginal culture to the oblivious superstars.
Shot with a miniscule crew and filmed across various locations in Melbourne, Ballarat and Bendigo, The Tour is not going to win any Oscars, but it can boldly claim to be in the top 10 wrestling films made in Australia this year!
The Tour: Blunder Down Under will screen on SBS on Tuesday 29 September at 7:30pm EST.
