KISS and Your Film Festival

Director, Alex Murawski and Metro Screen Alumni and Certificate IV in Screen and Media graduate,  producer, Annmaree J Bell’s ‘KISS’ has been selected as one of the 50 semi-finalists in the inaugural Your Film Festival. KISS is a story about friendship. Tom has never been kissed. When his best friend Sean, offers his girlfriend to practice with, Tom’s desire suddenly awakens, changing the trio’s friendship forever. KISS was Alex’s graduation project from the Australian Film Television and Radio School, produced by local producer Annmaree J Bell and features up and coming Australian actors including Sophie Lowe, Remy Hii and Benedict Samuel. Alex loves totell simple, engaging stories that affect the audience through their evocative atmosphere, gentle humour and ability to reveal our complex humanity. This is his third venture with producer, Annmaree J Bell, their previous films FRAIL and THE CHESS SET have screened world wide. Their films have been screened at numerous International and Australian film festivals including Montreal, Brisbane, Tehran, Berlin and Palm Springs.

Annmaree is the producer and founder of Azure Productions based in Lilyfield, with over 15 years project management experience Annmaree most recently completed short film Blue Monday with writer/director Craig Boreham, Grace with writer/director Liz Cooper, both films premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Annmaree has also produced Craig Borehams AFTRS graduate diplomia B&W short portraying the final days of Italian filmmaker Paolo Pasolini, ‘Ostia – La Notte Finale’, their short ‘Drowning’ premiered in competition at Flickerfest and won Queer Screen 2011 as well as the 2011 Melbourne Queer Film Festival and the 2012 prespgious National Film Sound Archive ‘Orlando’ award.

In 2011, KISS premiered at the Palm Springs Short Film Festival, picking up 2nd place and in 2012 went on to screen in the 14plus Generations competition at Berlin International Film Festival. KISS is now screening in the Ridley Scott backed YourFilm Festival in association with Youtube with a chance to compete for a screening in the Venice International Film Festival and $500,000 filmmakinggrant to produce a work with Ridley Scott.
