Screened in the domain as part of the TropJr program was the short ‘Pretty Normal Activity’ made in our Young Filmmakers workshop in the Metro Screen Studios. The short was written, directed and produced by young filmmakers with the guidance of Metro Screen tutor and filmmaker – Simon Koloadin.
Playing in the main Tropfest event was ‘Scene 16’ funded through Screen Australia’s Raw Nerve program and ‘CA$H COW – a 63% true story’, produced by Rachel Fiddes our Learning and Development Manager, and with several recent graduates on the crew.
We have a long history of supporting Tropfest and TropJr, taking out the top prize in 2009 at Tropfest with the film ‘Be My Brother’ made with production subsidies through the Jumpstart program and at TropJr with ‘Dry Water: the making of’ made in our Young Filmmaker workshops.
“So excited to be in the Tropfest finals – loved every minute of working with Dan Reisinger and Adam Dunn, they are very talented boys. Also so grateful for all the support that Metro Screen and the team provided while making the film – and to the students and recent graduates that helped out. Thanks guys!” Rachel Fiddess producer of ‘‘CA$H COW – a 63% true story’
