Congratulations to our Metro Screen Breaks filmmakers included in this year’s Flickerfest Film Festival
Awake is a short drama about a teenage Charlie struggling to deal with his Mum’s new boyfriend moving in to their small house that has paper thin walls. Awake was directed by Charlotte Mars and producer Emma Forgie funded by Metro Screen’s First Break program.
Shelter is a short supernatural horror about two strangers who must come together in a ravaged, post-apocalyptic world. A recipient of Metro Screen’s 2012 Breakout funding, Shelter was directed by Tobias Andersson and produced by Raquelle David. The film will have its premiere at Flickerfest.
Ngurrumbang is a period drama set in 1830’s NSW about a young woman who rescues an injured Aboriginal man. Funded through Metro Screen’s Breakout program, Ngurrumbang was directed by Alex Ryan and Jiao Chen and was nominated this year for a Dendy Award at the Sydney film Festival.
Flickerfest International Short Film Festival is at at Bondi Beach in Sydney from 10th to 19th January 2014.
