We’re having an international storytelling festival in Sydney from 6th to 9th August. Storyology is a summit of creativity, a lively event for storytellers of all kinds: from journalists, authors, graphic novelists and screenwriters to producers, multimedia creatives and entrepreneurs. We want our delegates immersed in a positive and interactive experience and fired up about possibilities that lie ahead. We want people to leave feeling inspired, ready to ditch old ways of working and adapt, grow, learn and change. We need talented, bold and funny facilitators for our sessions. Brilliant writers and storytellers, adventurous types and entrepreneurs. People who are passionate about new technologies and tools, who know how to self-promote and build an authentic personal brand. People who refuse to subscribe to the doom and gloom that has shadowed Australia’s creative industries of late. Our delegates want to know how new media platforms and tools can help them reach massive, global audiences, to diversify and find new niches for their work. They want to know how to find the funding they need to thrive.
Storyology is for those who write the words to create compelling narrative; whose imagery and sound conveys a world beyond language; whose technological brilliance allows well-told stories to cross the globe and traverse borders. We’re looking for:
Inspiring keynotes – leaders, gurus and bright young things
Session guests – exploring notions of storytelling, collaboration, inspiration, new media, innovation and technologies, audience, funding models
Lab presenters – for skill or focus areas
Pop-ups – short and sharp “How I did it” sessions
Short films – to showcase through the festival
Freelance gurus – for our special freelance stream
If you can contribute to sessions on innovation, new models for narrative, tapping an audience, funding and research, send an email with a 200 word pitch or short video to: email@example.com with Media Conference EOI in the subject line. EOIs close on 10th May 2013.
