The second annual Made In The West Film Festival is calling for entries from independent filmmakers across Sydney’s west.
The inaugural 2013 event attracted a huge number of entries and was a great success. This year prizes are being offered across three categories: Best in the West, Best Student Film, and Audience Choice Award.
Finalists will have their films shown at a red carpet event at Parramatta’s Roxy Hotel on Thursday, 27 November 2014. The winning films will also have TV exposure on Channel 44 Television Sydney.
Made In the West is hosted by Penrith’s StillSearchin Productions. Co-founder Ross Page said the Festival was created to offer Western Sydney residents the chance to contribute to the screen culture of its unique arts scene.
“We know the talent is here,” said Ross.“The area is full of stories waiting to be told, and slowly they are. Made In The West is about recognising these unique storytellers and giving them the space to showcase their work.”
