Entries for Australia’s most prestigious short film festival Tropfest are officially open.
Heading to Sydney’s Centennial Park for the second time, and with a sunny December date, Tropfest Australia 2014 will be bigger than ever with scores of filmmakers around the country competing for the chance to be one of 16 finalists whose short films will premiere live to a national audience of around 150,000 as well as broadcast free-to-air on SBS 2.
Films must be no longer than seven minutes and include this year’s Tropfest Signature Item (TSI) ‘mirror’, which has already had some interesting interpretations.
A panel of industry and celebrity judges will select a winner on the night of the festival. First prize includes a Toyota, $10,000 cash, a trip to Los Angeles for a week of meetings with film executives thanks to Motion Picture Association and the Australian Screen Association, plus a Nikon D800 and $2,000 worth of lenses/ accessories.
Entries close: 2 October 2014.
