Tropfest organisers have confirmed filmmakers have an additional week to enter their Tropfest submissions. The new deadline is Thursday 9 October.
This means there’s four weeks left to wrap shooting and put finishing touches on those filmic masterpieces. The Tropfest Signature Item (TSI) this year is ‘MIRROR’ and filmmakers are encouraged to be as creative in their interpretation of this as they like.
The Tropfest team have revealed that entries so far have dealt with some challenging issues.
“Love triangles, cheating in relationships, crime, homelessness, unemployment, growing old, planning one’s funeral and death have been recurrent themes for this year’s entries,” said Festival Manager Henry Kalaf. “Oh and zombies. There’s always a zombie flick or two in there somewhere!” he said.
With entries coming in from all over the globe from Egypt, Syria and London to Miami, New York and LA, as well as from filmmakers closer to home in Manjimp, Bega and Callington, this year’s Tropfest promises to be bigger than ever.
