The Village Roadshow Entertainment Group/Animal Logic Entertainment Internship is dedicated to fostering educational development. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the film business, with a clear strategic plan for how their proposed internship would support long-term career goals.
The internship is open to Australian film business undergraduate students and recent graduates, who demonstrate significant potential in their areas of expertise. The program involves working with Village Roadshow Pictures and Animal Logic executives in Los Angeles to gain hands-on experience in developing, acquiring, packaging and producing feature films for the international market.
Valued at $20,000, the internship will run from January to March 2016 with living and travel expenses for the three-month term covered while the recipient gets invaluable work experience in the Hollywood studio system.
Greg Basser, CEO of Village Roadshow Entertainment Group said: “As an Australian executive working in Hollywood, I know it can be challenging for students and recent graduates to get a ‘foot in the door’, so we are pleased to offer this internship in partnership with Animal Logic and Australians in Film.”
Zarah Nalbandian, CEO and founder of Animal Logic said: “Animal Logic Entertainment is excited to welcome another Aussie intern into our Los Angeles team. Australia has always punched well above its weight in terms of producing groundbreaking content for all screens as well as representing the very best emerging creative talent. Along with Australians in Film and Village Roadshow, we very much look forward to continuing to mentor, inspire and nurture more great Australian creatives into the future.”
The program fills part of AIF’s non-profit goal to serve as a bridge between the US and Australian film and television industries.
